Wednesday, June 8, 2011 Today one of our instructors’s received a medal at the annual FDNY Medal Day which was held on the USS Intrepid in Manhattan. FF Robert Painter Engine Co. 63 received the Lieutenant James Curran/New York Firefighters Burn Center Foundation Medal in recognition of his heroic actions July 4th, 2008, 19:53 hours, Box 75-3886, 708 East 243rd Street Bronx, NY for acting with aggressive and coordinated teamwork in the performance of duty to contain to spread of a gas-fueled arson fire in a six story multiple dwelling.  FF Painter was transported to the NYC Burn Center with 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his legs, wrists and ears.
